Travel is for the BRAVE.

Extraordinary Eco-lodge, Adventure and Five-star Accommodation Checkpoints of 2011

Summing up 2011 with Egyptolution’s insane traveling crew was nothing compared to where we’re heading in 2012. But lest we forget, let’s appreciate every bit of it, despite its falls, it has been definitely a revolutionary rise, putting in mind safety controversial issues about traveling to Egypt, here’s a flash back on the best trips we’ve ever had without any trouble.

Rides in the Desert

The herd of land cruisers that followed one another will always be memorable as trooping in the Bahariya Oasis in the Western Desert. We have taken the best rides ever in the black and white deserts of Egypt in April 2011. We also got the hang of sandboarding for the very first time on high sand dunes. We had gone wild in that Safari, sleeping in tents, dancing around a camping fire, and singing loud. It was an extraordinary trip where we got to sleep on the softest sands ever, camping under the shimmering stars in the soothest calming night breeze and gathering around a camping fire while listening to Bedouin music and their stories. Sneak in this trip's gallery...

Tip for spending a day in the desert: Save water by drinking right after you wake up early in the morning, makes your body less thirsty later throughout the day. Also, don’t forget wet wipes, for the desert is all you’ve got as a restroom

Golden Twists and Turns Trekking the Colored Canyon

In July, the summer of 2011, we took a very exciting sightseeing Road Trip from Cairo, to Taba, then to Nuweiba, while we have done two main stops on the road, at Dahab and Sharm El Sheikh on our way back to Cairo. Visiting the land of Sinai was a blast trip to do in just five days. Our accommodation recommends Habiba Village in Nuweiba in between the still mountains behind and moving waters on the beach, its simple housing recognizes nature and delicious catering considers organic fresh and healthy food that directly comes from Habiba Farm.

About 12 km up north the town of Nuweiba, lies a golden mystery of Sinai of amazing colors and rocky formations, in a limestone mountain chain of “El Tih” and most likely it's a place where Moses was lost for 40 years in biblical history. The Colored Canyon is a 45-minute ‘Jeep’ ride away from Nuweiba, it can’t be reached otherwise, and since 30 % of Bedouins are famous and working as tour guides up in the land of Sinai, you’ll get the most exciting twists and turns in the paths of the canyon. It’s a popular trekking day trip. (To see more...)

Don’t carry much while trekking the Colored Canyon, let your only supplies be water and a hat.

The Underworld Magic of Dahab's Blue Hole

Complimentarily to our road trip to Taba and Nuweiba, we’ve passed by Dahab for a dive in the Blue Hole and had an incredible night spent over at Christina Hotels, but we couldn’t miss the most exquisite diving and snorkeling site world wide. If you ever think you’ve had an amazing experience scuba diving anywhere else in the world, you’ve never had it just yet, I assure you, unless you’ve been to the one and only place that exists in the world down Sinai coast peninsula which is the Blue Hole.

The Blue Hole is such a vivid destination that grabs the world’s attention and every traveler's dream is to enjoy sightseeing of an unfamiliar underworld of the coral reefs and incredible life of amazing creatures. The Blue Hole diving site can be reached by a camel safari or a Jeep safari from either Taba or Nuweiba, and you’ll find them parking side by side in front so many cafes and restaurants that you can chill out at before or after your diving.

If diving is for pros and you’re not one, for an equivalent experience, rent fins and a mask which might cost you a range of 25 to 50 EGP from the cafes across the Blue Hole

Greetings from Ras Muhammed in Sharm El Sheikh

Later in September, we have made it to Sharm El Sheikh, it was the VIP trip of this year's closure. We stayed in Savoy Hotel, one of the top five-star hotels, located near the international airport in Sharm, around Nabq area, where we’ve got to attend Peter Andre’s concert in Soho Square at the town’s best dining and entertainment zone. Catching an eye on family entertainment's gallery...

From there on, we’ve taken it further to Ras Muhammed National Park, the unmissable attraction site in Sharm el Sheikh which is most likely, favored by divers or snorkelers. Owning a huge horizon of desert on the Red Sea water, this place takes a while to finish the whole sightseeing areas. Considerably being one of the world’s top preservation for living coral reefs on the Red Sea, observing the creatures under water was amazing. Watch on video...

You don’t want to even try the Lion Fish or the Corals sting, so be careful not to touch anything under water's surface if you are a beginner.

Perspective travel is a brave decision to take for a holiday. To try out something you’ve never done before for the very first time in your life is just supposed to be brave, an outcome of an aching desire to break a routine and a life changing experience that usually gives you a reason to talk about in your future. Irrespective of any five-star hotel accommodation, what really made our trips extraordinary was breaking out of our shell going to a desert safari, Eco lodging in Sinai and an adventure in nature while we were discovering Egypt and sharing our experiences.
