Abu Simbel Temple is an architecture bedazzlement as it merges architecture with nature in ancient Egypt during the reign of Ramesses II whom constructed Abu Simbel famous Temples in Aswan. The festival now celebrates an outstanding rare phenomenon where the sun rays literally creeps in slowly on the inner part of the temple altar of Abu Simbel and illuminates the extraordinary statues of king Ramesses II and the two sun gods celebrating his egotism, his rise to the throne anniversary and his birthday. It becomes a festive mood event associated with music and dance on the site. Make sure to mark those dates on your travel calendar, Oct 22nd and Feb 22nd.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, considered to be the Muslim’s holy month in which religious fast from dawn to sunset is an obligation, they are refrained from eating and drinking everyday for 30 days according to the commands of Qur’an. Ramadan in Egypt will take place from August 1st to 30th, 2011. Ramadan is a spiritual month where Muslims focus on important values such as their relationship toward God and others, giving generously, helping the poor, and doing acts of kindness. Eid El Fitr marks the end of the month where Muslims feast breaking the final fast and it is a national holiday with lots of celebrations.
